When you order a VPS or dedicated server you can set it up right from the order form, so it's ready to use the moment it's provisioned.
Install options at order time
- Operating system — pick the OS your plan offers.
- Root password — a strong password is generated for you. Copy and save it before you place the order; you'll need it for your first login. You can type your own instead.
- SSH keys — optionally paste one or more public keys (one per line). They're added to the server so you can log in without a password.
Placing the order
An order first raises a proforma — a payment request. Nothing is provisioned until it's settled. Pay the proforma by bank transfer, or from your account credit if you have enough, and once payment is confirmed your server moves into provisioning.
After payment
Provisioning runs automatically in the background. While it works, the service shows "Your server is being set up" and live controls appear as soon as it's ready — usually only a few minutes. When it finishes you'll find the server's status, IP addresses and management tabs on its detail page, and a final invoice is issued for your records.
